Regarding the media coverage of “Counter-measuring the Saturation Attack of Missiles, the Kidd-class Destroyer Joins the Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program”, the Navy Command Headquarters has stated today (9th) that the navy plans to implement an electronic warfare performance improvement program for the SLQ32 (V)3 Kidd-class Destroyer between 2018 and 2023 in order to respond to the threats of the enemies and meet the combat requirements in the future.

While the United States Armed Forces upgrades such electronic warfare equipment performance to (V)6, it is recommended that the navy implements a performance improvement for the electronic warfare equipment simultaneously. This program has been incorporated into the 2019 budget and is being reviewed by the Legislative Yuan as of now; relevant equipment performance is being inquired of the United States of America to facilitate subsequent evaluation.
